Quick Summary

TV has added CGTN English, CGTN Documentary and CCTV-4 Chinese International to its hotel television selection. TV guest experience.

COTT.TV has added CGTN English, CGTN Documentary and CCTV-4 Chinese International to its hotel television selection. The three distinct services broaden the choice available to eligible hotel clients, combining English-language news, documentary programming and Chinese-language television within the COTT.TV guest experience.

The channels can be requested through our TV Marketplace without an additional channel licence fee. The hotel's location and the applicable distribution arrangement determine which services can be included in its offer.

CGTN English: news and current affairs

CGTN English offers international news, interviews, business coverage and current-affairs programming, including reporting from China and other parts of the world. It gives English-speaking guests another editorial perspective alongside the news channels a hotel may already carry.

For a hotel, the practical benefit is choice. Guests can decide which service they want to watch rather than being limited to a single news channel or relying only on programmes in the local language.

CGTN Documentary: a different pace of viewing

CGTN Documentary is an English-language documentary service. Its programming covers subjects such as culture, history, nature, geography and everyday life, with a substantial focus on China. It is a separate service from the CGTN English news channel, not simply a documentary section inside it.

Documentaries can complement news and general entertainment in a room lineup. They give guests an alternative when they want a longer-form programme rather than a rolling bulletin. The broadcaster's current schedule determines the specific titles available at any particular time.

CCTV-4: Chinese-language programming

CCTV-4 Chinese International brings Chinese-language news, culture and general programming. It serves a different viewing need from the two English-language channels and may be particularly relevant to hotels welcoming Chinese-speaking guests.

Language should be considered directly when a property chooses its content. A traveller's country of residence does not, by itself, establish the language they prefer to watch. Providing different language options lets the guest make that choice.

A practical addition to the hotel's own selection

Each hotel retains control over the channels it requests. The CGTN and CCTV services can sit alongside local television, other international channels and hotel information rather than replacing the property's existing choices.

Our current Marketplace lists these services for hotels in Poland, Germany, Austria, Czechia and the United Kingdom under the applicable arrangement. A hotel-specific offer confirms the exact territory and service scope. There is no additional channel licence fee for these three services in the applicable offer; COTT.TV platform charges remain separate.

Request the channels through one platform

Visit the TV Marketplace, select the hotel's country and review the individual channel profiles. Hotels can choose the relevant services and send a lineup request with their property details. Our team confirms availability and the next steps; the request itself does not activate channels or create an order.

The COTT.TV guest demonstration shows how live television is presented alongside hotel information and guest services. It is a demonstration of the interface, not a promise that every channel in the catalogue is enabled in every hotel.

Are all three channels in English?

No. CGTN English and CGTN Documentary are English-language services. CCTV-4 Chinese International provides Chinese-language programming.

Are the channels automatically added to every hotel?

No. Each property chooses its channel selection, and availability is confirmed for that hotel and territory.
